Max contracted lymphatic cancer and was withdrawn from the show ring at four years of age, and at the height of his show career. He died at five years old.... but his contribution to the breed is undeniable... his progeny continue to win and breed on, and he is one of the most influential sires in the history of the breed in Australia...
